San Antonio, TX
In studio or onsite, you can be sure your images will be natural, true to you and flattering. Do these sessions look even a little ... fun? Everyone I've worked with begins their session telling me how much they hate having their photo taken, and leaves their session totally effusive about what a great time they had.

Sessions
Studio sessions will always have a special place in my heart for the simple purity of them: there is no epic location or lush greenery to distract from your facial expression, your body language ... your general you-ness.
I have solid seamless and painted backdrop options in my studio, some furniture options for seated poses, and a dressing/make-up room. Onsite professional hair & makeup can easily be added on to any session.

Portraits On Location
We can also go to the places where you feel most yourself to capture a meaningful portrait of you: maybe that's walking around the city, maybe it's a certain garden where you always walk your dog, maybe it's your home office or local coffee shop. Branding sessions are the perfect fit for onsite sessions to communicate even more about your business through the spaces where you work.

Studio session for Suzanne
Author portrait
Suzanne Mercury is a poet and passionate beekeeper who I'd photographed in more of a "headshot" capacity before, but with a new book coming out she wanted to treat herself to a longer session with more outfit changes. I loved the thought and sense of fun she put into her outfit choices, with heart-shaped sunglasses, a tiara-like headband, and two chiffon jackets. I now advise everyone to bring at least one option that makes them feel like a kid playing dress-up.
Hair and makeup done onsite by Kerri Herlihy.

Boston Magazine
Realtor Top Producers
Every year Boston Magazine publishes its "Top Producers" in real estate, and I've been fortunate to ask to help with their portraits. Locations are all around the greater Boston area, and are always in a spectacular home that the realtor either owns themselves or currently represents.
As an open-house nerd I love the opportunity to see all these incredible spaces!

AWP Conference 2020
Onsite Author POrtraits
The Association of Writers and Writing Programs is a huge (10k+ attendee!) annual traveling conference. Since 2018 I've set up an portrait studio onsite in each city for authors to stop in for fifteen minute sessions over the course of their three day visit.
It sells out every year and I photograph 75+ authors each conference. I meet such incredible people and love picking up their books later!

Onsite Headshots and Branding
NorthStar
Northstar is a constellation of companies in the fertility field, helping patients with IVF, egg donation, and surrogacy. I was asked to take new branding images over a two day session for a couple of their newer companies, and everyone I met was so warm, friendly, and approachable.

Personal Portrait Session
Julia
Julia contacted me as she prepared for a double mastectomy as part of her cancer treatment; she wanted to document this time in her life and her body before going through such a major change.

Branding Session
Kim
Kim is an acupuncturist with her own practice in Beacon Hill. She was revamping her website and got in touch to schedule a branding session; the first half we spent in my studio, and the second half we relocated to her space with a model patient.
I loved capturing the details of her beautiful space and seeing her in action!

Some people have the genes or the skills or they've got it all and cameras are no big deal to them; they were made to have their photos taken. They can look polished and perfect in any image, and the world loves it, and they love it. Is that you? What ... no? Perfect.
If you're one of my favorite people to photograph, you're maybe a little anxious about this whole thing. You know that being in front of a camera is actually kind of vulnerable. Maybe there are things you don't like about the way you look, or you've been betrayed by cameras in the past, or maybe you just feel like a deer in headlights as soon as the camera is pointed at you and you don't know what to do with your arms. "What's my face looking like right now? Am I doing that thing?" It's a little bit scary. It takes guts to do it anyway.
That double-sided coin of vulnerability and courage can't help but come through in your images. Don't know how to be anything other than yourself? Need some guidance in just letting the walls down and having fun in front of a lens? I am the photographer who is 100% here to help.
Send me a note and I'll get back to you within 24 hours (usually a lot sooner during business hours!) I'll send you my full pricing information, with some questions for you about who you are, what you do, and what you'd like to communicate in your portrait. I want to ensure we're a great fit!
1. Say Hello
2. Let's do it!
If we're excited to work together, the rest is easy! You'll select your date and time and I'll send you my contract and invoice; once that's digitally signed and paid, your session is officially locked in my calendar!
Don't know what to wear? How many outfits to bring? How much makeup to wear, if any? How to find my studio, where to park? Don't worry, I'm here for you every step of the way! Once your session is booked, I send you my full preparation guide and studio information email.
Having a session outside of my studio? I have a list of locations that I know photograph beautifully, which I'll share as a starting point, along with some questions for you about your favorite places to be.
3. Deciding Location and Wardrobe
Hurray, it's the day of your session! If you're having hair and makeup done, you'll come an hour before your session start time to get all polished up, otherwise I'll meet you five minutes before your start time so we have time to get settled and chat a bit.
Next you'll show me the outfits you brought, and we'll get started! I'lll have coffee, wine and light snacks available. You'll be able to view your images on my computer as we go; it makes for a more collaborative process, and we make sure there are a bunch you LOVE before you go.
4. Photo Session day!
Within 72 hours you'll have your online proof gallery of lightly-edited, watermarked images. You can mark images as favorites, share the gallery with your friends and family, and view their favorites. Once your list is finalized you just send me an email! If you have any specific edit requests you can make them at this time.
I'll invoice you for any additional images beyond what you initially purchased, if applicable, and then I'll get started! I work carefully with your final images, and turnaround time is up to 2 weeks.

Portrait sessions from $950
My session fee covers our time together with multiple backdrop and outfit variations if you like, an online proof gallery for your image selection, and one fine-processed high resolution digital image for your perpetual use. Images are otherwise completely a la carte: you only pay for what you love! It's super easy to add on one of my recommended professional hair & makeup artists who will meet you at my studio if you want that extra polish. Additional image downloads and framed prints can all be ordered after you've seen your proof gallery.
I just want to gush one more time about how happy I am with the author photos you took last year at AWP. I can’t believe how many times I have had to look at them, publishing a book in a time when social media is even more intense than it was the last time I published a book, and I am still amazed you managed to make me look so good and also so myself and capture such a perfect mood - and how nicely they go with my book cover! I will use them forever! Thank you again!

These are amazing!!! Thank you so much, Adrianne. You gave them just the kind of touches that make them look polished but not overdone. You are some kind of wizard! My hair will never look quite so good, but I will be forever grateful to have great bangs in this photograph.
Enough about my hair: what I appreciate most of all is that you captured me looking the way I feel, and in portraits that really convey those feelings. You have such a gift!
